Kilo Code with Muapi
Use Muapi text models in Kilo Code by adding Muapi as a custom OpenAI-compatible provider.
1. Create a key and choose a model
Create an API key in the Muapi dashboard, then list available text models:
curl -s "https://api.muapi.ai/v1/models?type=text" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $MUAPI_API_KEY"
Choose a model ID from the response with capabilities.tools: true. Kilo Code needs tool support for file edits and terminal actions.
2. Add Muapi as a custom provider
In Kilo Code, open Settings → Providers, choose Custom provider, then enter:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Provider ID | muapi |
| Display name | Muapi |
| Provider API | OpenAI Compatible |
| Base URL | https://api.muapi.ai/v1 |
| API key | Your Muapi API key |
| Model ID | An exact text model ID with tool support |
Save the provider and select the model in Kilo Code's model picker. Kilo Code may fetch the available models automatically; if it does not, add the model ID from Muapi's model list manually.
Keep your key in Kilo Code's credential settings or a private local config. Do not commit API keys to a project repository.
3. Try a small task
Ask Kilo Code to inspect a file and make a small change. If the model responds but does not perform actions, choose a model whose Muapi model-list entry has capabilities.tools: true.
Troubleshooting
- If the connection test fails, verify the API key and use the base URL
https://api.muapi.ai/v1without/chat/completions. - If the model is not listed, enter its exact ID from Muapi's text model list.
- Large repository prompts can use credits quickly. Start with a narrow task and check usage in the Muapi dashboard.
See the Kilo Code custom-model documentation for current provider field names and configuration options.
