Install and API key

Problem	Fix
npx: command not found	Install Node.js, then rerun npx skills add https://muapi.ai.
Agent doesn't use the skill	Restart the agent after installing, or ask explicitly: "Use the muapi-models skill to…".
MUAPI_API_KEY missing	Export it in your shell and restart the agent from that same terminal.
401 Unauthorized	The header must be x-api-key. Check the key at muapi.ai/dashboard.
Variable not recognized on Windows	Close all terminals (including VS Code and Cursor ones) and reopen, or use $env:MUAPI_API_KEY in PowerShell.
PowerShell rejects curl arguments	Use curl.exe; PowerShell aliases curl to Invoke-WebRequest.

Model runs

Problem	Fix
Wrong model picked	Name the model in your request.
Task failed	Read the error the agent reports, then ask it to retry with adjusted parameters.
Insufficient credits	Top up in the dashboard and rerun.
Result link expired	Results are kept 30 days. Rerun the task and ask the agent to save outputs locally.

Test the same call with a sandbox key (POST /api/v1/keys with {"is_test": true}) to separate a payload problem from an account problem. Or contact support through muapi.ai.
