Cline with Muapi
Connect Cline to Muapi's OpenAI-compatible chat API to use Muapi text models for coding tasks.
1. Create a key and choose a model
Create a key in the Muapi dashboard, then list the available text models:
curl -s https://api.muapi.ai/v1/models?type=text \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $MUAPI_API_KEY"
Use a model ID from this response. Cline needs a model that supports tool calls; check for capabilities.tools: true.
2. Configure the Cline extension
In VS Code, open Cline's settings and set:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| API Provider | OpenAI Compatible (or the custom OpenAI-compatible provider in your Cline version) |
| Base URL | https://api.muapi.ai/v1 |
| API Key | Your Muapi API key |
| Model ID | An exact text model ID with tool support |
Save the settings and start with a small task. The endpoint URL should not include /chat/completions.
Troubleshooting
- If the connection test fails, verify the key and base URL, then make sure the model ID appears in Muapi's text model list.
- If Cline responds with text but does not perform actions, choose a model whose
capabilities.toolsistrue. - Large repository prompts can consume credits quickly. Start with a narrow task and check usage in the dashboard.
See the Cline documentation for current provider field names.
