Roo Code with Muapi
Use Muapi's OpenAI-compatible chat endpoint as Roo Code's model provider. The model must support tool calls for Roo Code's agent actions.
Choose a model
Create an API key in the Muapi dashboard and list available text models:
curl -s https://api.muapi.ai/v1/models?type=text \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $MUAPI_API_KEY"
Select a model with capabilities.tools: true. Check its context and output limits before using it on a large repository.
Configure Roo Code
In the Roo Code settings panel in VS Code, select its OpenAI-compatible provider and set:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| API Provider | OpenAI Compatible |
| Base URL | https://api.muapi.ai/v1 |
| API Key | Your Muapi API key |
| Model | Exact text model ID from the model list |
Save and test with a small, read-only request first. Do not append /chat/completions to the base URL.
Notes
- Roo Code's provider labels and optional context-size settings can vary by version. See the Roo Code provider documentation.
- Tool-calling quality varies by model. If actions are not issued, confirm
capabilities.tools: trueand try a different supported model. - For Muapi image, video, or audio tools in an assistant workflow, use the Muapi MCP server.
