Muapi's AI video effects API turns a single image into a short video with a named effect applied — a viral transformation like Cakeify or Kamehameha, a cinematic VFX shot like a building explosion, or a camera move like a dolly zoom or FPV drone pass. Pick a preset by name, send one REST request, poll for the result. 160+ presets across four endpoints, one API key, from $0.30 per video.
64 named effects — transformations, characters, human moments and styles — applied to a still image as a 5 or 10 second video.
An AI video effects API applies a predefined visual effect to your media and returns a finished video. Instead of writing a prompt from scratch, you choose an effect by name — "Cakeify", "Car Explosion", "Dolly Zoom In" — and the platform supplies the tuned template behind it. The result is consistent, repeatable output that is easy to automate.
Muapi groups its effects into four endpoints that share one authentication scheme and the same submit-and-poll flow: AI Video Effects (64 transformations, characters, human moments and styles), Viral Video Effect Templates (41 social-style effects like kisses, hugs and morphs), VFX (9 cinematic effects such as explosions and disintegration) and Camera Motion Controls (47 shots such as crash zooms, whip pans and FPV drone moves). A separate AI Dance Effects endpoint transfers the motion of a reference video onto a character image.
Effect presets are for repeatable, named looks: you choose Cakeify or a dolly zoom and get that effect every time, which suits templates, social apps and ad variants. A general image-to-video model takes a free-form prompt and gives you open-ended motion, with less predictability from run to run. Use the effects API when you want a specific, reusable effect; use image-to-video when you want to direct the motion yourself. Compare with the Image to Video API →
Transformations, character looks, romantic and social moments, cinematic VFX and camera moves — all selected by a single name parameter.
Send one image URL and get back a short video. No prompt engineering needed to get a consistent effect.
Explosions, disintegration, lightning and tornado VFX, plus dolly, crane, crash-zoom, whip-pan and FPV camera motion.
AI Dance Effects takes a character image and a reference video and applies the video's motion to the character.
On the AI Video Effects, VFX and Motion Controls endpoints, choose 5 or 10 seconds, 480p or 720p, and medium or high quality.
Every effect uses the same request, polling and webhook flow as the rest of Muapi, with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Every preset below can be passed as the name parameter on its endpoint. Names are case-sensitive — copy them exactly as shown.
Several effects place a recognisable person in a new scene, relationship or appearance. Only submit photos of people who have agreed to be used this way, and do not use effects to create misleading content about a real person. Muapi does not verify consent on your behalf; that responsibility sits with the API caller.

160+ presets: 64 on AI Video Effects, 41 on Viral Video Effect Templates, 9 on VFX and 47 on Camera Motion Controls, plus AI Dance Effects for motion transfer. The full list is on this page.
Viral Video Effect Templates are a flat $0.30 per video. AI Video Effects, VFX and Camera Motion Controls start at $0.30 for a 5 second, 480p, medium-quality video and rise to $1.20 for a 10 second, 720p, high-quality video. AI Dance Effects is billed per second of input video: $0.05 per second at 480p and $0.10 per second at 720p.
Not for Viral Video Effect Templates, which take only an image and an effect name. The AI Video Effects, VFX and Motion Controls endpoints accept a short prompt that is inserted into the effect's template.
The presets on this page are the supported set. For free-form motion, use an image-to-video model instead.
Sandbox API keys return mock results instantly without spending credits, so you can build your integration before generating real videos.
