Install muapi-models

1. Install the skill

Requires Node.js.

npx skills add https://muapi.ai

The command discovers the skill from https://muapi.ai/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json and installs it for the coding agents on your machine. Rerun it to update. To preview without installing, add --list.

2. Create and export your API key

Create a key at muapi.ai/dashboard.

macOS / Linux — add to your shell profile:

export MUAPI_API_KEY=your_key

Windows PowerShell:

$env:MUAPI_API_KEY = "your_key"
setx MUAPI_API_KEY "your_key"

3. Restart your agent

Launch your agent from a shell where MUAPI_API_KEY is set. On Windows, close all terminals first, including those inside VS Code or Cursor, then reopen.

4. Test it

Ask in natural language:

Use the muapi-models skill to list image models that support image editing.

or generate something:

Generate a 30 second lo-fi background track with Muapi and save it to ./audio/lofi.mp3

Security

Keep your key only in environment variables. Never paste it into a chat or commit it. If it leaks, delete it in the dashboard and create a new one.

Optional: CLI

The skill works with plain HTTP, but if the muapi CLI is installed it uses it for uploads and polling:
